Helen "Wurz" Margaret Allison
February 8th, 1927 - April 12th, 2011
With profound sadness, family and friends have learned that Mrs. Helen Margaret (Wurz) Allison died early Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at the age of 84 due to complications from myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS). Mrs. Allison was known as a devout woman, good neighbor and her family and many friends appreciated and relied on her kindly and caring disposition. The family moved from Indiana to Florida in 1960 and the deceased was a 44 year resident of Satellite Beach, Florida.Helen Wurz Allison born 02/08/1927 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Kurt and Margaret Wurz. She graduated from the Indianapolis Sacred Heart High School in 1945. She married Richard Norman Allison in 1948, now deceased. Mrs. Allison was a devout parishioner of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church for some 44 years. She was a 60 year member of the Secular Franciscan Order, Our Lady of the Angels Fraternity, was a volunteer worker at the Church's Thrift Shop for 15 years and since 1998 was a member of the Church's Adoration Chapel. Predeceased by her Husband Richard, her parents and brother John Wurz. Mrs. Allison is survived by her four sons Tony (Nicole) Allison, Paul (Eva) Allison M.D, David (Kathleen) Allison, Joseph Allison and daughter Ann Allison. Survivors also include nine grandchildren: Chelsea Arnold, Cadet Julian, Megan, Elizabeth, Mark, Stephen, Sara, Christopher and Jocelee Allison . Surviving also are her sister Kathryn (Tony) Cento, sister-in-law Alvina Wurz, daughter in law Linda Allison and many nieces and nephews. Her childhood friend for life Margie Dicks is also among the living along with countless local and longtime friends, many affiliated with Holy Name of Jesus Parish. Hospitalized with an illness that lasted three months, she was attended to by many caring physicians including Drs. Simon Vinarsky, Mark Talbert, Peter Marzano and Anthony Barile. The family extends its gratitude to the Holmes Regional Medical Center nursing staff that provided at all times wonderful loving and professional care to the deceased during her long and complicated illness. Gathering will be held, from 6-9:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at Beach Funeral Home, Indian Harbour Beach. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, Indialantic. Interment will be at 1:00 p.m. at Florida Memorial Gardens, Rockledge. Flowers will be accepted, of those who wish may contribute to Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Helen's name.
