Lois Scrivener
October 10th, 1945 - June 20th, 2021
Lois Passed away of natural causes on June 20, 2021 at home with family in Cocoa, Florida. Lois was born to Park and Mary Doing in Garden City, NY, 6 weeks premature and “in a hurry the rest of her life” according to her father. Reunited in Christ with Jim, husband of 38 years who preceded her in death (2005) and brother John. She will be dearly missed by sister Lynn and Douglas McLean and Brother Park and Erica Doing, Sister-in-Law Carolee Doing, Daughter Patricia and Brian Schmidt, Son James and MaryBeth Scrivener and Son Andrew and Sally Scrivener and grandchildren Zoe, James, Ethan, Lily, Mary, Annabel, Hope and Teddy. Lois was an active member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Community, having presided as Principal of the School from 1991 to 2006 earning Two Blue Ribbon School Awards and a Nationally Recognized Catholic School Principal Award. A member of the Order of St. Francis and a proud Daughter of the American Revolution in addition to her small church group and book club, Lois never slowed down. Having spent a good life dedicated to her family and the extended family of all the children whom she educated, Lois was always surrounded by love and gave freely of herself, she was an inspiration and a beacon of faith to everyone who knew her. Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Name Of Jesus Catholic Church on A1A in Indialantic on Thursday, June 24th at 10 am with visitation beginning at 9:30 am at the same location. In accordance with her wishes, her remains will be interred at Greenfield Cemetery in Uniondale, NY at a future date to be announced.
