Geraldine Francis Pruitt

Geraldine Francis Pruitt, 76, died on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, in Sumter, SC. Gerry was born in Miami, Fl. on September 21, 1945. She spent the majority of her childhood years in Greenwood, SC. where she graduated from Greenwood High School in 1963. While being a military spouse for 26 years with her former husband, Aaron Pruitt, they were stationed in Japan, Mississippi, Arkansas, Florida, and South Carolina. Gerry enjoyed a successful career in banking and finance. She spent most of her final years in Satellite Beach, Florida where she was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 200. She loved living in Florida where she could be near the beach, play bingo with friends, and enjoy summer visits from her boys and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Dorothy Smith and a sister, Jeannie Thornton. Gerry is survived by three sons, Michael (Brenda) Pruitt of Sumter, SC, Patrick (Belinda) Pruitt of Silverdale, WA, Keith (Lynn) Pruitt of Sumter, SC; six grandchildren, Ashley, Spencer, Brianna, Sarah, Lily, and Ciara; three great- grandchildren Keenan, Amelia, and Kylie. There will be a private family service at a later date.
