A tribute to an interesting lady, sister, artist, world traveler, entrepreneur, and Genealogist, who passed away May 4, 2022 in Melbourne, Florida. She is survived by Patrick Ballard of Satellite Beach, her devoted companion for 8 1/2 years. Rita was born February 6, 1928 in Woodfin, NC. A suburb of Asheville, NC. Her hobby was tracing the family history, often traveling to various countries In search of records or distant relatives. Her dedication to the family history Research extended to the Family Reunion an annual affair held near Asheville, Each year. Rita was a member of DAR, Eastern Star, Daughters of Confederate Veterans, a lifelong member of the Episcopal Church, member of the Satellite Beach Women’s Club and Elks Lodge 1744. She is survived by siblings: Polly O’Donnell, Randsberg, California Anna DeRossett, Titusville, Florida Marshall DeBruhl, Woodfin, NC Norman DeBruhl, Middletown, MD Rita was the daughter of the late Arthur M and Janie DeBruhl. We pray for the mercy of Jesus Christ for our beloved sister Rita. Predeceased siblings: Everett Hines DeBruhl Deane DeBruhl Blankenship Josephine DeBruhl Parker George DeBruhl
