David DeKalb Parker

Dr. David DeKalb Parker, Jr., age 73, of Indialantic passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2023 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 24, 1949, in Albemarle, North Carolina; the son of the late David DeKalb Parker and Anne Elvira (Gilliam) Parker. Dave received his undergraduate degree from Clemson University and received his PhD in Molecular Biology at the University of Tennessee Knoxville. He retired as the CEO for Spacecoast Pathology. Dave was an avid scuba diver and loved his dogs. David will be sadly missed by all that knew him, but especially his loving family. Dave is survived by his wife of 41 years, Linda Dickson Parker, of Indialantic; his children, Jennifer (Parker) Zimmerman of Camden, SC, Lesley Jeffries Ward (Dr. Forrest Ward) of Germantown, TN, and Trey Jeffries (Christi Kelley) of Bartlett, TN; his grandchildren, Justin Parker, Matthew Zimmerman, Morgan Jones (Aaron), Brandon Jeffries, and Blake Jeffries; his great-grandchildren, David Zimmerman, Xander Jones, Kizer Jones, Kobe Jeffries and Tyson Jeffries; his dog, Buddy; and several cousins. In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by his beloved black lab, Tucker. Memorial Contributions may be made to Candlelighters of Brevard, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, or animal rescue organizations.
