Joyce "Mama Kwas" Kwasiborski

Joyce Kwasiborski, "Mama Kwas" (nee Zalenski) 63, of Gulfport , Florida entered into eternal peace on April 9, 2014. Although she struggled with serious debilitating health issues for many years, Joyce's loss is sudden, but , thankfully, merciful. Joyce had worked as an Administrative Assistant for 30 years in several major law firms in Philadelphia before moving south. In addition, she had been co-owner of The Preliminary Bar and Restaurant in the Fishtown area of the city. She is survived by her loving son Matthew Anthony who after raising him as a single Mom, and ensuring that he graduated from Loyola University, made Joyce extremely proud of being the European Institutes Director of The Fund for American Studies in Prague, Czech Republic for the last ten years. Her first trip to visit him in Prague had been scheduled for April 15, 2014. Survivors also include her sister G. Sandy Bukowski, Brother-in-Law, Buddy, nephews Jon-Christopher/Jake (Roya) with great niece, Liberty Grace; Zachary Scott (Lorena); Kathy Westfield and nephew Nick Williams. She has already greeted her Mom, Agnes Collar/Zalenski, her best friend Carol Moegen, her brother John (Ike) Williams, and her nephew Raymond Williams; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Her beloved cats, Molly, JoePa, Harrie, Izzy, Angel, Leo, and Kwasi will miss her tremendously. A celebration of Mama Kwas's life will be held on Saturday, May 10 at Holy Name of Jesus Church (701 E. Gaul St. Philadelphia, PA 19125) with a reception to follow at Eatalia at (2723 E Cumberland St, Philadelphia, PA 19125). No RSVP necessary.
