Hernandez, Flerida, “Fela”, 78, of Land O’ Lakes, FL, passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2016. She was born in the Dominican Republic and emigrated to New York City in 1966. After many years of city living, she moved to Tampa, Florida in 2016. Fela enjoyed gardening, decorating for the holidays, cooking and shopping. She had a great sense of style and a strong creative energy. She enjoyed family gatherings, and the love for her grandchildren nurtured her enthusiasm. Fela is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Jose Olivo; two daughters, Yenill Hernandez, Kenya Troche and her husband, Jorge; two grandchildren, Junior and Kylie; four sisters, Hilma, Didin, Poy and Magnolia; many nieces and nephews including Tati, Milquella, Indiana and Zoyi. A celebration of Fela’s life will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2016, at Loyless Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
