December 16th, 1930 - May 31st, 2017
NOVAC, George P. 86, of Wesley Chapel, Florida passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2017. He was born in Canton, Ohio and moved to Florida from Atlanta, Georgia in 2001. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Korean conflict. After serving his country, George went into banking where he retired after a long and distinguished career. He was a member of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church. George joined the Knights of Columbus in 1957 and was a 4th Degree Knight. He was a Past Grand Knight, Past Faithful Navigator and Past District Deputy; he started several new councils and assemblies in Georgia and Florida. George is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Teresa; five children, Jerry and his wife , Debbie, Michael and his wife, Christine, Philip and his wife, Asheley, Cindy Wood and her husband, Terry, Sandy Ritchie and her husband, Doug; seven grandchildren, Jerry, Marianne, Katie, Kyle, Ty, Erin, Gracie and five great grandchildren. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church at 1:30 p.m. The family will receive friends one hour prior to mass. Interment will be at Sarasota National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family request donations to be made in George’s name to: Villa Madonna Catholic School 315 Columbus Dr. Tampa, FL 33602 or Tampa Catholic High School (tampacatholic.org)
