Dragan Savkovic

SAVKOVIC, Dragan, 80, of St. Petersburg, FL, passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2017. Dragan was born in Yugoslavia and moved with his wife from Chicago in 1995 and made their home in St. Petersburg, where they enjoyed their retirement and watched their grandchildren be born and grow. He served in the Serbian Military. Dragan was a residential painter and was also involved in painting the set of the movie Home Alone. Dragan’s greatest memories were spending summers in Elkhorn, WI and McHenry, IL with his wife, children and cousins where they enjoyed gardening, fishing and spending time with the family. Dragan was an animal lover especially with all rescue animals. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Helena; cousin, Josef Bobrowitsch. Dragan is survived by his daughter, Brigitte (Jack) Howard of New Port Richey, FL; son, David (Dawn) of St. Pete, FL; three grandchildren, Dylan, Deanna and Daniel; cousins, Katharina Bobrowitsch and Stefan Eder; distant family and friends in Europe. A visitation will take place from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, July 9, 2017 at Loyless Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 10, 2017 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 445 82nd Ave, St Pete Beach, FL 33706. Interment to follow at Royal Palms Cemetery South.
