Susie West

Susie Juanita West On September 19, 1948 Susie Juanita Battle was born in Rocky Mount, NC. She was the sixth of seven children of Lonnie and Eula Battle. She moved to NJ at a young age and there she met and married the late Carol Edwin West. To this union 3 children were born, Carl, April and the late Edwin. Funny and gregarious Sue was known to be the life of the party and the best cook this side of the Mississippi Delta and perhaps beyond. She prepared delicious feasts for family and friends along with great music. So legendary were these gatherings that friends often opted to spend the night, enjoy a greatly prepared breakfast and start the party all over again. Sue was a true and loving mother, mother-in-Law, Sister, Aunt, Cousin and friend. On March 17, 2018 she fell asleep in death leaving those who knew and loved her the warmest and fondest of memories. Preceding her in death were her sister Ms. Corrine Battle, her two brothers Mr. Lonnie Battle Jr., Mr. Daniel Battle and her loving son Radhi Muhammad (Edwin West) She leaves to cherish her memory her children Carl West (Tarwana), April West-Jordan (Ansil), Grandchildren Ehris West, Kellye West, Khalif Fladger, Vanessa Jordan, Nadirah Muhammad, and Dallas Jordan, Sisters Katie L Lewis, Mae Helen Westmoreland, of Detroit, MI, Beatrice Battle of DE, Cosins Clee battle,Sam cotton Many nieces & nephews special friends Ms. Shirley Chisholm and Ms. Patricia Everette.
