John William Johnston

JOHNSTON, John William, 72, of Odessa, FL, passed away July 26, 2018. He was born in Horton, MI. John was employed as a heavy duty diesel mechanic but his passion was being the best Husband, Father and Pop he could be. No matter what you needed, he was always there for you. John always helped everyone and he never met a stranger. He enjoyed vacationing and hiking in the Smokey Mountains. He also enjoyed riding his bike around the neighborhood to talk to everyone. John fixed everything from his children’s and grandchildren’s toys, to cars and remodeling homes. He raised many grandchildren and loved his family very much. John was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Henry Johnston and Annalene Cannella Boldrey; son, David Allen Johnston; brothers, Richard Henry Johnston, Thomas Johnston and Patrick Johnston; sister, Rose Ellen Johnston Chancey. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda Combast Johnston; his son, John Michael Johnston; his three daughters, Tammy Williamson and her husband, Shelby, Melissa Paulk and her husband, Dan and Michelle Sota and her husband, Rick; eight grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. A funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Loyless Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
