Ellen Rorer Sholders

SHOLDERS, Ellen Rorer, 68, of Land O Lakes, died on Thursday, March 29, 2007, in the loving presence of her family, at home. Born in Kansas City, Missouri, Ellen grew up in Dixon, Illinois. She came to Land O Lakes when her husband retired from dentistry 10 months ago, previously residing in Miami, Florida, for 33 years. Ellen fought a brave battle against cancer, and she remained the heart and center of her family until the end. She will be sorely missed, forever loved by all who knew her, and a beacon of light for her family. Ellen was a devoted wife to her husband, Dr. Ronald Sholders, a loving mother to daughters Lori Farmer, Lisa McKee, and Elaine Alessandri, sons in law Dr. Donald Farmer, and Paul Alessandri, her 6 grandchildren, Megan, Whitney, and Brandon McKee, Ryan and Matthew Farmer, and Sophia Alessandri. Ellen was eagerly anticipating the birth of her first great grandchild, “Mikayla Elaine Thirkill”. Additional family includes a brother and sister in law, Steven and Judy Rorer, their sons, Keith and Stuart Rorer and their families, as well as many brothers and sisters in law on her husband’s side, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Jean Rorer.
