DeChant, John Michael “Mike”, Jr., 77, of Lutz, passed away Friday, August 10, 2007 peacefully at home. He was born in New Concord, OH and moved to Florida when he was a child. He was an Investigator for the Florida State Attorney’s Office for Pinellas/Pasco Counties. He was a member of “FOP”, Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 29. His heart was as wide as he was tall and to know him was to love him. He is survived by his wife, Dale of Lutz; 2 sons: John Michael DeChant, III “Butch” (Amy) of North Carolina and Scott Godfrey (Isis) of Florida; one daughter: Joyce Godfrey of Florida; six grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 17, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Loyless Funeral Home.
