Derexa Marie Hawley
June 19th, 1922 - April 16th, 2010
HAWLEY, Derexa Marie “Dee”, 87, of Land O’ Lakes, passed away peacefully Friday, April 16th, 2010. She was born in Lamar, Colorado and moved to Florida from Redondo Beach, California in 1989. She played a vital roll in the office of her son and daughter-in-law, Hawley Dental Associates. During WWII Derexa worked for the Navy department in Washington DC. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Land O’ Lakes, the local Garden Club, and a 22 year member of the Thursday Card Club. Derexa is preceded in death by her husband, Glenn, and is survived by her son, Dr. Robin Hawley and his wife Dr. Debbie Hawley; two daughters, Celia Hawley and Diane Labit and her husband Terrill; ten grandchildren, Karin, Brian, Cathryn, Timothy, Jessica, Elaina, Emily, Evan, Kelsey, and Katie; seven great grandchildren, Sylense, Rachel, Brendle, Eva, Blake, Sarah, Alex, and one on the way; and sister, Darlene Gardner. A memorial service will take place at 11:00 am, Saturday, April 24th at First United Methodist Church in Land O’ Lakes. In lieu of flowers the family asks to make a donation to a charity of your choice.
