CHAVEZ, Fabian, “El Conde”, 94, passed away in Wesley Chapel, Florida on Saturday, December 22, 2012. Born in El Salvador in January 1918, he moved to New York in 1970 and has been a seasonal resident of Florida since 2005. In his youth, he worked with El Diario de Hoy in San Salvador, El Salvador and retired from the Rockaway Metal of Inwood, New York. He enjoyed listening to tangos of Carlos Gardel and caring for his pets. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Merci; son, Francisco Chavez; daughter, Ana Ramdial and her husband, Devi; sister, Sofia Chavez; two grandsons, David and Peter Ramdial, many extended family members. A celebration of El Conde’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 29th at Florida Mortuary Chapel in Tampa with cremation to follow. A visitation will be held from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday evening December 28th at Loyless Funeral Home in Land O’ Lakes.
