Robert Peter Ackerman

ACKERMAN, Robert P. “Bob”, 73, of Zephyrhills, FL passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2013. He was born in Greenfield, MA and moved to FL in 1994. Bob retired as a superintendent of fire alarm detail after 20 years with the Greenfield Fire Department. Prior to that, he was with the Department of Public Works for 13 years. Bob was secretary for the local chapter of International Association of Fire Fighters and also was in charge of the voting machines for Greenfield elections. Locally, Bob was owner and operator of A.S.E. Golf Carts for 10 years in Zephyrhills. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Janet; son, Lee Kirk Ackerman of Zephyrhills; daughter, Katherine D. Helm (Howard) of Wesley Chapel; five grandchildren, Nichole and Zachary Bellemare, Amy Shine, Christian-Lee and Ashley Ackerman; two great grandchildren, Colby Perfumo and Michael Brooks. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 7th at the First United Methodist Church of Brandon. Donations may be made in Bob’s memory to the First United Methodist Church of Brandon Music Ministry.
