Robert Eugene Blocher

BLOCHER, Robert Eugene, “Bob”, 76, of Land O’ Lakes, Fla., passed away Thursday, November 10, 2011. He was born in Union City, OH and moved to the bay area from Ft. Wayne, IN in 1977. He worked at Ernie Haire Ford for 36 years and was also owner and operator of Blocher Auto Sales in Tampa. Since 1988, Bob worked as a funeral attendant for Loyless Funeral Home. Bob was known for his charitable contributions. For many years, he bought food, furnished Christmas for the needy and bought cars for those that needed transportation. He was a giver to several other missions and enjoyed participating with his children in coaching little league baseball and basketball. Bob was a member of the Land O’ Lakes Church of God and a former member of Bethel Baptist Church where he served as trustee, treasurer, usher and custodian. Bob is preceded in death by his father and mother, Robert and Twila Blocher and his wife of thirty eight years, Patricia and son, Christopher. He is survived by his wife, Betty; five children, Steve, Linda, Bobbi, Michael and John; five step children, Jack, Deborah, Tony, Joe and Marc; sister, Charlotte Hofacker and her husband, Robert; twenty four grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. Bob’s family would like to thank HPH Hospice Care Center for all their kindness. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Land O’ Lakes Church of God Building Fund. A memorial service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 19th at the Land O’ Lakes Church of God. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
