SMITH, Harold J., “Smitty”, 81, of Lutz, Florida passed away Sunday, January 6, 2013. Smitty spent his first 60 years in his beloved Rockaway Valley, New Jersey home before moving to Florida. He was a lifelong member of the Masonic Lodge. Smitty was a pipe fitter and auto mechanic by trade and always enjoyed having a friend stop by “the garage” just to talk. He is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Amy. He is survived by his two sons, Harold and his wife, Meg and William and his wife, Sue: two daughters, Cheryl Sanza and her husband, Al, and Susie; two brothers, Robert Smith and George Smith and his wife, Frances; sister, Audrey Gardner and her husband, Richard. Harold dearly loved his six grandchildren, Gregory, Brian and Matthew Smith, Elizabeth Sanza, Jessica and Sarah Smith. Smitty recently received an award for donating five gallons of blood. Donations may be in Harold’s memory to the American Red Cross. Services will be private.
