Tiffany Jo Messingham

Tiffany Jo Messingham January 21, 1981~February 10, 2013 Tiffany Jo Messingham was born in Farmington, Minnesota on January 21, 1981 to Mark and Barbara (May) Messingham. While still in grade school, her father’s position in the US Air Force took them to Las Vegas, Nevada. Eventually she moved to Tampa Florida where she attended Junior High and High School. While attending King High School, Tiffany participated in the Lionettes Drill Team and was very involved in many high school activities. After graduating from King in 1999, she attended Florida State University in Tallahassee before transferring to the University of South Florida where she obtained her Bachelors’ Degree in Communications. After spending some time New York City, she returned to Tampa and obtained her Masters’ Degree in Education from the University of South Florida. She found her true calling in elementary education and taught both kindergarten at Foster Elementary and first grade at Lee Elementary. During her college career, Tiffany joined the Delta Delta Delta sorority at the University of South Florida. Tiffany was a devoted and involved member of serving in numerous volunteer and leadership capacities in Tampa and nationally. During this time, she served as Philanthropy Chairman, Social Chairman and Sisterhood Chairman. Following graduation, she worked as a Field Consultant, assisting Tri Delta collegians across the country. More recently she served as a Collegiate District Officer and Recruitment Specialist and she was currently assisting the Beta Alpha chapter as the Lifetime Membership Adviser. She leaves behind hundreds of Tri Delta sisters whose lives she touched and positively impacted through the years including the 2004-2005 Field Consultants, numerous DDD volunteers throughout the country and hundreds of Beta Alpha members who will miss her positive energy, thoughtfulness and love for Tri Delta. Tiffany was a provisional member of The Junior League of Tampa. As a provisional, she formed new friendships while giving back to the community through various projects such as the Sulphur Springs Community Center Dinner & Dialogue project. Her mother, Barbara Rose (May) Messingham and her paternal grandparents, LaVerne and Rosemary Messingham, all of Iowa, as well as step grandmother, Harriet Johnston of Tampa, all precede Tiffany in death. Survivors include her father, Mark Messingham and his wife, Linda Johnston Messingham, of Tampa; grandparents, Karen & Myron May of Humboldt and Robert Johnston of Tampa; sister, Cassandra Johnson and her husband, Steve, niece, Addison Rose of Port Richey; Michael Messingham and his wife Kelly, of Iowa City; niece, Caitin and nephew, Nolan; Thomas Messingham and his wife, Molly of Forest Lake, two nephews, Michael and Parker; niece, Madison; Jason Messingham and his wife, Brenda of Arvada; two nephews, Jakob and Gage, two nieces, Taryn and Rhegan, Matthew Messingham and his wife, Elise of Santa Clarita, niece, Kamryn, nephew, Kole; and Nathan Messingham of Arvada, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Tiffany was a Florida girl at heart; loving the social involvement, living on Harbour Island, and having friends surround her wherever she went. Her generous spirit and warm smile will be greatly missed not only by her family, extended families of Tri Delta and Junior league, her students but by all of the lives she touched in the community and everywhere she went. A memorial celebration of Tiffany's life will be held at Loyless Funeral Home in Land O’ Lakes on March 3, 2013 at 2:00 p.m.. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Tiffany will be laid to rest next to her mother in Humboldt, Iowa.
