January 25th, 1931 - January 5th, 2014
TILLETT, James Burton “Burt”, 82, of Land O’ Lakes, FL went to the Lord Sunday, January 5, 2014. He was born in Norfolk, VA and moved to the Tampa Bay area in 1970. Burt was proud of his country and served an established career in the United States Air Force, was a Vietnam Veteran, and retired as Lt Colonel. He was a proactive member of the First United Methodist Church in Land O’ Lakes and will be greatly missed by those who knew him. He is preceded in death by his wife and lifelong partner, Audrey Tillett. Burt is survived by his two sons, J. Bruce, and his wife, Marisel, of Bristow, VA and D. Scott, and his wife Danae’, of Zephyrhills, FL and eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 19 at First United Methodist Church in Land O’ Lakes. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday evening January 18 at Loyless Funeral Home. Interment will be at 11:30 am on Monday, January 20 at Florida National Cemetery. Donations in Burt's memory may be made to First United Methodist Church in Land O' Lakes, FL.
