Richard Huey Bratton

BRATTON, Reverend Richard Huey, Jr., 51, of Lutz, Florida passed away Friday, February 7, 2014. He was born September 5, 1962 in Savannah, Georgia. Huey served in the United States Navy. He also earned the rank of Captain in the United States Army and served as a Chaplin in Iraq. He was an Associate Pastor of Worship at Myrtle Lake Baptist Church. He was a member of the Florida Worship Choir and Orchestra. Huey is survived by his wife, Cindy Bratton; son, Luke Bratton of Jacksonville, Florida; parents, Richard and Olean Bratton, Sr. of Austell, Georgia; sisters, Donna James and husband Skip and Wanda Peratta and husband Bill; beloved Basenji and Shepard mix, Kele; many extended family members and friends. Pastor Huey's funeral service will take place in Land O' Lakes, Florida, at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at Myrtle Lake Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and invites you to join them for refreshments following the service. Military Honors will take place at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Huey’s memory to Myrtle Lake Baptist Church Ministries. A celebration of Pastor Huey’s life will take place in Austell, Georgia at 4:00 P.M at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church on Saturday, February 22, 2014. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and invites you to join them for refreshments following the service.
