Ronald Dale Johnson
December 18th, 1937 - March 20th, 2014
Johnson, Ronald (Ron) Dale, 76, of Lutz, FL went to be with the Lord, March 20, 2014. He was born in Pinckneyville, Illinois in 1937. He graduated from Pinckneyville High School in 1956 , then attended Southern Illinois University, majoring in Fine Arts. Ron was well respected in his career of hotel and restaurant management in St. Louis and Kansas City. He was an extremely gifted singer, musician and artist. He was a member of the The Flattoppers quartet in the 1950’s. Ron is proceeded in death by his father, Dale W. Johnson and mother, Margaret R. Johnson of Pinckneyville, IL, as well as his brother, Terry R. Johnson of Tampa, FL. He is survived by his sister, Angela K. (Johnson) Pyatt and her husband Bob, as well as 2 nephews: Dale and his wife, Cathy (Opp) and Robert Pyatt and wife Nikki (Hubler). He is also survived by a niece, Kay Jean (Pyatt) Winter and her husband Dale, all of Pinckneyville, IL. Ron’s nephews and niece blessed him with six great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by Danelle (Sedlack) Johnson, formerly of Christopher, IL. Their marriage of 22 years began on December 26, 1959 at the First Methodist Church of Christopher, IL. They had two daughters, Merritt (Johnson) Morris and husband Art, and Angela (Johnson) Winkler and husband Chris, all currently of Lancaster, SC. Ron is also survived by two grandchildren: Anna (Morris) Beam and husband Justin of Anderson, SC as well as Max Morris of Lancaster, SC and his fiancee, Sara Parker. After moving to Florida, he married his companion of many years, Eileen Siegel, of Lutz, in 2004. They remained married until May 2, 2012 and continued to be close friends until Ron’s passing. In memory of Ron: son, brother, husband, father, and uncle... “We thought of you today, but that is nothing new. We thought of you yesterday and days before that too.
