Michael Gabriel Murphy

MURPHY, Michael Gabriel, of Land O’ Lakes passed away Saturday, August 30, 2014. Michael was born in Passaic, New Jersey and enjoyed the Jersey shore and moved to Florida in 2001. He attended New York Military Academy; was a graduate of Pope Pius XII High School; earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Fairleigh Dickenson University, Teaneck, New Jersey Campus. He then pursued a career in chemical management and retired to Florida in 2001. Michael was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church and played drums with the choir at the 11:30 a.m. Sunday Mass. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. Michael is preceded in death by his brother, John “Jack”. He is survived by his wife of fifty one years, Annette; children, Patrick and wife Julie, Scott and wife Susan, Michael and wife, Millie, Colleen Speer and husband, Ronnie, Jeannie Wallner and husband Timothy; brother, Thomas and wife Judy; grandchildren, Andrew, Ryan, Megan, Madison, Nicholas, Hunter, Kendra, Sarah, Anna, Reagan, Mackenzie, Adelaide and Riley. A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, September 4, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church. Michael’s final resting place will be at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Clearwater, Florida. The family will receive friends one half hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Michael’s memory to Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church – Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
