Caroline Van Phan

VAN PHAN, Caroline, 93, of Tampa, Florida passed away February 14, 2019. She was born in Saigon, Vietnam, moved to New York City in 1962, then shortly after resided in Queens, New York and then to the Tampa Bay Area in 2011. Caroline was a translator for the Vietnamese Courthouse. Caroline was fondly known as “Ba,” to her grandsons & Di Nam & Co Nam to the rest of the family. Caroline’s favorite activities included gardening, reading, watching movies, and eating. She was an exceptionally good cook and loved to laugh and dance. Caroline also loved watching Broadway musicals and plays. She was a hard worker and valued her education, as she had put herself through night school to get her GED and worked at Chase Bank for a number of years. Her biggest pride and joy were her grandchildren. Caroline is preceded in death by her loving husband of 46 years, Jackson Van Phan; and her son, Maurice Van Phan. She is survived by her daughter, Evelyn Tom and her husband, Mike; and her 2 grandchildren, Cody and Kyle. A Celebration of Life will take place at 2:00 pm on March 2, 2019 at Loyless Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to service.
