Brenda "Kemoy" Lochin

On February 18, 1946, Brenda Lochin was born in Port of Spain, Trinidad. Born to Eugene and Wilhelmina Lochin, Brenda was the fourth of nine children. She passed away on October 22, 2021. She was a Catholic by Faith and attended Our Lady of Rosary in Land O’ Lakes. In her earlier years, Brenda was a graduate of Progressive High School in Port of Spain, Trinidad. After graduating she worked in Marketing before migrating to Florida to be with her daughter, Donna-Marie, and some of her other family members who also lived in Florida. With a passion for cooking and feeding others, Brenda became a Chef and went on to work as a Chef at an Assisted Living Facility for 10 years. While she was a master of many meals, Brenda primarily enjoyed preparing Trinidadian dishes. After retiring, as a proud grandmother, Brenda spent her time caring for her grandchildren. With family at the forefront of her life, Brenda thoroughly enjoyed hosting family functions where she would prepare several dishes for her family to enjoy. She would enjoy seeing all of our family together eating, socializing, and sharing endless laughter. Brenda was an incredibly strong, and caring woman. Although she will be sorely missed by her family, her spirit will forever live on. She is preceded in death by her brothers Lenny John and Theodore Lochin. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Donna Marie and Hugh Smith; her siblings, Sylvan Lochin, Glenford Lochin, Clyde Lochin, Calvin Lochin, Jennifer Hercules and Margaret Thomas; her grandchildren, Dominic and Daniella Smith; nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends.
