Norman Erich Meissner

Norman Erich Meissner of 99, passed away on November 18, 2022. He was born on October 9, 1923, in Detroit, Michigan to parents Paul Erich Meissner and Hertha Ehlert Meissner Velicoff. He was then baptized on December 25, 1923, to godparents Anna Ehlert (Aunt) and Cyril Juroff. Norman was an avid photographer, woodworker, model ship builder and world traveler. He graduated from Cass Tech High School in Detroit, MI; he later attended college classes as well as various training courses throughout his career. He spent many years working as an engineer in the Aeronautics Industry and started his working career as a tool & dye maker, as well as management of a machine shop. His design work for mechanical manufacturing was performed on CAD design (Computer Aided Design Program), and then taught industrial education. Norman retired at the age of 81. He met the love of his life at a U.S.O gathering, where they married in Napoleon, Ohio and later lived & raised their children in Detroit, MI, Pomona, CA, and various places in Florida. Norman and Janice Essie Jolly were married for over 48 years. Norman was greatly loved by his family and friend for the kind & loving man he was. He spent his later years at the Baldomero Lopez State Veterans Home in Land O’ Lakes, where he was President of the Resident’s Council for numerous years and attended the Bible study class. For many years he participated in the crafting class, providing friends and family members with many items, especially clocks. Norman is preceded in death by his son, Dean Meissner and is survived by his daughter Patrice (Larry) Meissner Neville. His grandchildren: Lynde (John) Neville Koop and Mandy (Robert) Neville Morreale. And his great grandchildren: Ryan (Kendra) Koop, Jessica (Adam) Melton, Wyatt Koop, Sofia Morreale and Abigail Morreale.
