George Renner, 83 of Neosho, MO passed away 10/9/2020 of natural causes. He was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Mona Lee Shirley and survived by his son, R. Christian Renner, daughter-in-law, Jennifer, 5 grandchildren, and 1 great- grandchild. George resided in St. Petersburg, FL for 56 years following his service in the Air Force and education as an aeronautical engineer at Embry Riddle University. George’s employment history reflects his passion for planes and people. In the Air Force he flew B-47’s and continued his work on planes as a mechanic at Fairchild Hiller in St. Petersburg. Later, he served as a Supervisor for GTE phone company and finally retired as a Technician from the St. Petersburg Times. George grew up on a farm in MO with 3 brothers and 5 sisters. He understood the importance of hard work and community involvement. He was a member of the Scottish Rite of Free Masonry in St. Petersburg and active on his neighborhood committee. In his free time, George enjoyed gardening and prided himself in culturing numerous fruit and nut trees on his property off 10th St NE. If you knew George, you know a story or two about his experiences. He had a way of making you feel like you were family and never hesitated to lend a hand to someone in need.
