Theresa Bard
March 1st, 1950 - December 7th, 2023
Therese (Theresa) Corno Bard, 73, passed away at home on December 7, 2023 and lived the last 3 years with strength, determination and grace while battling cancer and its aftermath. She was born on March 1, 1950 in Edmundston NB Canada and was the only child of Leo and Sylvia (Bosse) Corno. She attended local schools and obtained her RN degree from Hotel- Dieu Edmundston School of Nursing. Theresa met Ray in 1970 on a cold January night at a local night club and the relationship bloomed until their marriage on Apr 2, 1972. Theresa worked as an RN until giving birth to Jason and Julie and was a "stay at home" mom thereafter. When the kids were school age, Theresa did volunteer work at school and at church. Eventually this led to employment as a school nurse. During her 51 years of marriage, Theresa moved to four different parts of Maine then to Michigan, Louisiana and finally Florida. Theresa was a very social person and made lifelong friends everywhere she went. After leaving Maine, she worked as a school office associate in Muskegon, Mi., a PKP scholarship coordinator at LSU in Baton Rouge, La and a medical office staff associate in St Petersburg, Fl. Her hobbies were numerous but two are noteworthy. She was an accomplished seamstress and greatly enjoyed making Halloween costumes for the kids, for herself and the grandkids. Secondly, Theresa enjoyed golfing and beating Ray was not unusual and she was quick to remind Ray of her "hole in one". Theresa is survived by husband Ray, son Jason (Laurie) and daughter Julie Fogarty (Ryan) and five grandkids; Chloe and Nathan Bard and Sadie, Megan and Caleb Fogarty. Theresa was a beautiful person that exuded strength, dignity and grace and a strong display of affection for family and friends. Her profound love of life will live on from those who knew her. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM, Dec 14, 2023, at St Paul's Catholic Church, 1800 12th Street N, St Petersburg, FL. A Celebration of Life from 12 PM to 2 PM at the home of Julie Fogarty located at: 770 36th Ave North, St Petersburg, FL 33704.
