Papa, Dorothea Louise Gibson 91, of Emlenton, PA and St. Petersburg, FL, passed away in her home in St. Petersburg on Monday, August 16, 2010. Born on June 11, 1919 in Eau Claire, PA. She was the daughter of Mary Elizabeth Kingsley Gibson and William Clyde Gibson. After completing high school, she graduated from Butler Business College and was later employed by the United States Government in Washington, D.C. She was married in Atlanta, GA to Col. Anthony E. Papa, US Army in 1942. During her husband's long and decorated military career, she lived in various countries throughout the world. Dorothea had a love for traveling and a passionate fondness for animals. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Gwendolyn Middleton of Emlenton, PA and Beatrice Vorous of Sarasota, FL. Surviving are nieces, Bonnie J. Jackson of St. Petersburg, FL and Gwen C. Goodwill of Brookville, PA; nephew, David G. Middleton of Emlenton, PA. Funeral services will be private and burial will take place at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA.
