LCDR Ret. US Navy Joseph Michael Petkiewicz

Petkiewicz, Joseph Michael (Ret. LCDR US Navy) 86, of St. Petersburg, died Thursday, September 12, 2013, at Seminole Nursing Pavilion. Born in Shenandoah, PA, he retired here in 1974. He was a proud WWII Navy veteran. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Retired Officers Association and the American Legion Post 14. He loved fishing, woodworking, amateur radio, cooking and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Marie. He is survived by his children, Kathleen (James) Niehaus; Dennis (Wanda); and Monica Petkiewicz and grandson, Joseph Petkiewicz II. A visitation will be held from 12pm until service time at 3pm on Sunday, Sept. 15th at Anderson McQueen, 7820 38th Ave. N. Donations may be made in his name to the Wounded Warrior Project.
