Holmes, Melvin Clair 93, of Pinellas Park, passed away Wednesday, September 22, 2010. He was born and raised in Michigan and moved to Florida in 2001. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Mary Holmes, in 1993. He is survived by his children, Roland Holmes, Melvin Holmes, Nancy Van Valkenburg, Brian Holmes, and Janet Lamley; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; current wife, Phyllis LaVoie, 4 step-children; and 10 step-grandchildren. Burial will take place in Prattville Cemetery in Michigan. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association, 8430 West Bryn Mawr Ave # 800, Chicago, IL 60631-3497.
