Lucille Jane Safranek
January 7th, 1924 - December 14th, 2013
Safranek, Lucille Jane, 89, of Tampa and formerly of St. Petersburg, died Saturday, December 14, 2013, at The Home Association. She moved to St. Petersburg in 1956 from her native Cleveland, OH. She graduated from West Tech High School, Class of 1942 in Cleveland, OH and attended St. Petersburg Junior College and Tomlin Vocational School. She was a member of the Czechoslovakia Society of America and the Sokol Association. She was employed by Derby Lane for over 30 years. She was an avid bowler and loved to travel with her late husband and friends. She especially loved her annual trips to Las Vegas. She loved being with family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Josephine Antos; her husband of 43 years, Oldrich "Orge" Safranek; and her brother, Donald Antos. She is survived by her daughter, Lorraine Marie Hutson of Tampa; her sister-in-law, Evelyn DeOreo of Dallas, TX; her grandson, Harry J. (Alexandra) Hutson of Jacksonville, FL; her grandson, Maxwell C. Hutson of Austin, TX; and her great grandchildren, Harrison and Lucy Hutson. Donations may be made in her name to Greyhound Rescue and Adoption of Tampa Bay.
