Ortiz, Ana Luisa, 79, of St. Petersburg, died Monday, December 16, 2013, at Suncoast Hospice Care Center South Pinellas. Born in Barranquitas, Puerto Rico, she came here in 2006 from Puerto Rico. She was a Professor at the Interamerican Univeristy in Puerto Rico for over 20 years. She was a devoted Roman Catholic. She loved spending time with friends and family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Domingo and Angela Ortiz; her brother, Eduardo Ortiz; and sisters, Carmen and Delia Ortiz. She is survived by her daughters, Lourdes (Alan Wacker) Vales and Marai Vales, both of St. Petersburg; her sons, Pedro Xavier (Olga) Vales , Pedro Orlando (Micheline) Vales, Pedro Ernesto Vales; her sisters, Sister Maria Angelita Ortiz, Maria Ortiz, and Millie Ortiz; fourteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Family prefers donations be made in her name to Suncoast Hospice or St. Anthony's Hospital Foundation.
