She graduated from Chestnut Hill College and received her Masters from Penn State in 1963. She was preceded in death by her parents, Denis and Florence Murphy; and sister, Carolyn Connolly. She is survived by sons, Denis (Amy) Burns; MAJ. Curtis (Caron) Burns; grandchild, Abigail Burns; sister, Denise Phillips.
