Albert "Al" Clarke III, 72, of Pinellas Park, died Sunday, August 3, 2014 at Hospice Woodside. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and moved to Florida in 1955. Al was the devoted husband of Sue for 51 years and father of Jennifer. He was preceded in death by his mother, Alda Hodil and his father, Albert Clarke, Jr., and his loving in-laws, Ruby and Art Cushing. Al graduated from Northeast High School in 1961, served in the National Guard while going to college and worked for the St. Petersburg Times for many years. He sold real estate for 42 years and owned Sue Miller Realty for most of those years. Al enjoyed vacationing in his motorhome with Sue and Jennifer, fishing with his in-laws, and riding his motorcycle with friends, but most of all, he loved being Santa during the holidays for the big "kids" in his Harley Club, and for the children who wanted their picture taken on a motorcycle with Santa. His proudest moment was the year the U.S. Coast Guard Air Station at Clearwater Airport asked him to help entertain over 200 children. He belonged to the Fletcher's Harley Owners Group, AMA, and the Mustang Club of America. Al is survived by a very large family and countless friends. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Suncoast Hospice, 5771 Roosevelt Blvd, Clearwater, 33760 or the Children's Dream Fund, One Progress Plaza, Suite 820, St. Petersburg, 33701. A celebration of Al's wonderful life will be held on Sunday, August 10 at 3:00 P.M. at the Pinellas Park Performing Arts Center, 4951 78th Avenue North.
