Swan, William V. ?Bill,? 89, of St. Petersburg and Atlanta, GA, died Sunday April 23, 2000 at Bayfront Medical Center. Born in Taunton, Massachusetts, he was a seasonal resident for the last 34 years from Atlanta. He spent his career in Atlanta as a Manufacturer?s Representative of heavy electrical equipment. He attended Auburn University where he graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He was a member of the St. Petersburg Yacht Club, the Pasadena Yacht and Country Club, the Dunwoody Country Club of Atlanta, the Auburn Alumni Association, a round table member of the High Museum in Atlanta, and a member of the Reliance Society of the Herreshoff Marine Museum in Bristol, RI. Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Patricia Adams Swan; one daughter, Suzanne Swan Urban, Blowing Rock, NC; one son, William W., Athens, GA; four grandchildren: Ginger Spangler and Leigh Watkins of Charlotte, NC; and W. Mark Swan and Nancy K. Swan, both of Atlanta, GA; and one great-granddaughter, Lauren Marie Spangler, Charlotte, NC. The following six people listed are named pallbearers: Johnathon Gilbert, Michael Howerter, Kurt Johnson, Brad Lazzara, Richard Lazzara and Ronald Williams. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The University of Iowa Foundation for Macular Degeneration, P.O.Box 4550, Iowa City, Iowa 52244-4550 or contact Tami Diebel at 800 648-6973 ext. 726.
