Ericson, Hardy L., 86, of St. Petersburg, died Thursday May 4, 2000 at St. Anthony?s Hospital. Born in Funk, Nebraska, he came here in 1958 from Mishawaka, Indiana. Upon leaving the farm, he worked for AT&T as a lineman in Denver and numerous other places which lead to his career in the mobile home business. He was owner and operator of Ericson?s Mobile Homes Sales in St. Petersburg and Port Richey from 1958 until 1989 and was still Co-Owner of Regency Heights for Mobile Homes, Inc in Clearwater. He was a Charter Member of the Exchange Club of NE St. Petersburg as well as being Past President and Exchangite of the Year. He was a member of the St. Petersburg Yacht Club, the Quarterback Club, the Mishawaka Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite, and Egypt Temple Shrine. He served on the Board of Directors for Ellis National Bank and was a Co-Founder of Marine Bank. He was a member, Trustee, and Usher with Christ United Methodist Church. He was an avid fisherman and boatsmen. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Mary W.; one daughter, Beverly Ericson Smoker, St. Petersburg; one half-brother, Darrell Ericson, Funk, Nebraska; three grandchildren: Stacy Green, Loganville, GA; Michael Smoker, Sugar Valley, GA; and Erica Swinks, Auburn, GA; and four great-grandchildren.
