Charles Edward Miller
April 18th, 1922 - May 14th, 2000
Miller, Charles Edward, 78, of Largo, formerly of St. Petersburg, died Sunday May 14, 2000. He came to St. Petersburg in 1947 and moved to Largo in 1989. He attended Notre Dame University and Colorado University receiving a Bachelors degree in Economics, and a PhD in Law from Stetson University. He worked for the St. Petersburg Law Firm Fowler White as a Trial Attorney. A combat wounded WWII veteran, he was left a quadriplegic at age 22. In 1960, then Governor, LeRoy Collins, appointed him to the Fire Control Board of Lee County, Florida. He was a member of the Paralyzed Veterans of America, Order of the Purple Heart, the Florida Bar, University of Colorado Alumni Association, Kappa Sigma Fraternity, Gamma-tau, Retired Lawyers Association, and Pinellas Suncoast PVA. He was National Wheelchair Bowling Champion in 1986. He is survived by his wife, Rini Andrus Miller; two sons: Christopher Miller of Indiana and William Miller of St. Petersburg; a daughter, Mary Fallon Miller of St. Petersburg and two grandchildren.
