Collins, Charles William, 89 of St. Petersburg, died Sunday October 29, 2000 at Carrington Place Convalescent Center. He was born in Esserville, VA and came here in 1986 from Wise VA. He was a coal miner for the Flat Gap Mining Company in Norton VA He was a member and Past Master of both Hoge Lodge #8, Wise, VA and Norton Lodge, Norton, VA; Past District Deputy Grand Master for the Grand Lodge of Virginia; member of Kazim Shrine Temple, Roanoke, VA; Mayor for the City of Wise, VA for several years and a member of Wise County Housing Authority. Survivors include two sons, Billy C., St. Petersburg, Ben A, Eagle, Idaho; a daughter, Bobbie Collins Kinsey, Salem, VA; two brothers, James J. Jr. Norton, VA and Thomas L., Decatur, AL; four sisters, Georgia Goodale, Brockton, Mass, Mildred Barron, Tavares, FL, Anna Lee Collins-Smith, Decatur, AL and Rosemary Winters, Cocoa Beach, FL; 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
