Eric O. Nelson

Nelson, Eric O., III, 49, of St. Petersburg, died Monday January 8, 2001 at St. Anthony?s Hospital after a long illness. Born in Nashville, Tennessee, he came here in 1955. He was the manager of the kitchen at the Pinellas County Jail. He was a 1971 graduate of St. Petersburg High School and attended St. Petersburg Junior College in the Hotel & Restaurant Program. He was active in the Boy Scouts and received the Eagle Scout and God and Country Awards. He was a member of the Tampa Bay Inventors Council and was a Presbyterian. Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Joan E. Nelson, 2 sons, Eric O. Nelson, IV and Derek W. Nelson, both of St. Petersburg, a sister, Sharon Samis of St. Petersburg, his mother, Bernice Nelson of St. Petersburg, 4 nephews and a niece.
