Britt, John A., 73, of Largo, died Wednesday February 7, 2001 at home of cancer. Born in New York City, NY, he came here in 1978 from Spotswood, NJ. He was a retired crane operator for Whitehead Metals, a steel industry company, in Carteret, NJ and a WWII army veteran. He was catholic. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Veronica T.; five sons: John J. Britt and Thomas F. Britt, both of Clearwater, Joseph E. Britt and Peter J. Britt, both of Largo and Ron P. Britt, St. Petersburg; two daughters: Patty A. Swope, Largo, and Janet A. Leach, Candler, NC; a brother, Emanuel Britt, Fords, NJ; a sister, Alma Martinez, Carefree, AZ; and ten grandchildren.
