Strawn, Russel Earl ?6-7/8?, 97, of St.Petersburg, died Saturday February 10, 2001 at home. Born in Wampinita, Oregon, he came here in 1924 from Evansville, Indiana. He was in the building construction business, owning and operating R.E. Strawn, Inc. from 1924 until he retired in 1970. He was a member of St. Petersburg Lodge #139, Scottish Rite, coroneted a 33rd Degree Mason, a member of Tampa Egypt Temple Shrine, a member of Pinellas Democratic Club, and a member of Legion of Honor for DeMolay, York Rite Bodies, St. Petersburg, and he was a member of First Baptist Church in St. Petersburg. Survivors include his wife of 76 years, Valeda E. Strawn, two sons, Russel ?Bill? Strawn of Independence, Virginia, and Eldon E. ?Bud? Strawn of St. Petersburg, 8 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Anderson-McQueen Funeral Homes and Cremation Tribute Center?Ninth Street Chapel, St. Petersburg.
