James Allen Fitzgerald
November 7th, 1928 - January 5th, 2015
James "Jim" Allen Fitzgerald, 86, of St. Petersburg, passed away Monday, January 5, 2015, at Palms of Pasadena Hospital, St. Petersburg, FL. surrounded by his loving family. Born in Memphis, Tennessee on November 7, 1928 to the late John Allen Fitzgerald and Sarah Hoshalleen Donaldson Massey, he married Manie Leachman on September 7, 1951. Jim graduated from South Side High School and attended Memphis State University where he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. A veteran of the United States Navy, serving during World War II, he was also President of Fitzgerald-Riggs Distributors, Inc. Jim and Manie were founding members of White Station Church of Christ in Memphis and attended Christ Church in Nashville and BayPoint Christian Church in St. Petersburg. Jim is survived by his wife of 63 years, children, James "Jim" Allen, Jr. (Courtney) and Sarah Elizabeth (John) Brunson, grandchildren, William "Will" James, Ian James, and Evan James, brothers-in-law, Earnie (Shirley) Leachman, and Don (Dot) Leachman and predeceased by his sister, Betty (Paul) Winningham. There will be a memorial service on Friday, January 16, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at Anderson McQueen Tyrone Funeral Home, 7820 38th Avenue North, St. Petersburg, FL 33710 with interment at 2:15 P.M. at Bay Pines National Cemetery 10000 Bay Pines Blvd., St. Petersburg, FL 33708.
