Phillips, James Ernest ?Jimmy?, Jr., 55, of St. Petersburg, died Thursday May 17, 2001. A native of St. Petersburg, he was a Junior All American Basketball Player at Bishop Barry High School now St. Petersburg Catholic High School, as featured in the Parade Magazine, and also played basketball at St. Petersburg Junior College. He served in the US Coast Guard. He was Catholic. Survivors include his mother, Aileen Phillips of St. Petersburg, 2 sisters, Mary Ann Frederick of Gainesville, Florida and Melinda Galaher of St. Pete Beach, Florida, a brother, John Phillips of Crystal River, Florida, 3 nieces, 3 nephews and 5 grand nieces.
