Hammel, Eloise D., 81, of St. Petersburg, died Wednesday July 4, 2001 at Edward White Hospital. Born in Day, Florida, she came to St. Petersburg in 1929 from Live Oak, Florida. She was a retired private duty, registered nurse. She was a member of the Cathedral of St. Jude the Apostle. Her community activities included Past President ? Women?s Service League, Past President ? Mound Park Hospital Nurses Alumni, Life Member ? Cross of Lorraine, Member ? Inter Lock Club, various volunteer functions for the Cathedral of St. Jude the Apostle and the Veterans Affairs Medical Center at Bay Pines. Survivors include three 3 daughters: Eileen M. DeWitt ? St. Petersburg, Linda E. Hammel ? St. Petersburg, and JoAnn O?Malley ? Marietta, GA; two 2 brothers: Leslie Dicks ? Seigler, Oklahoma and Reid Dicks, Jr. ? Nashville, TN; two 2 sisters: Mattie Lee Long ? St. Petersburg and Jonnie Mae Corsiglia ? Ocala, FL; and three 3 grandchildren. Anderson-McQueen Funeral Homes & Cremation Tribute Center ? Ninth St. Chapel.
