Gerasimchik, Toney ?Tootsie Roll Man?, 83, of St. Petersburg, died Thursday August 9, 2001 at Edward White Hospital after a short illness. Mr. Gerasimchik came here in 1954 from his native New York City, NY. He was a retired vending machine route salesman, a navy veteran of WWII participating in the Normandy Invasion, a past member of Moose Lodge, Madeira Beach and a 33-year member with AMVETS Post #1, St. Petersburg. He is survived by a son, Russell A., St. Petersburg, a daughter, Janet M. Sheldon, Atlanta, GA, a sister, Mary Prentice, Jamestown, NJ, a granddaughter, Cheri Shaw, Newman, GA, a grandson, Mark Gerasimchik, St. Petersburg and two great-grandchildren.
