Greene, Audrey C., 83, of Largo, died Friday November 16, 2001 at Morton Plant Hospital, Clearwater. Born in Wilmington, Delaware, she moved here in 1970 from Atlanta, GA. She was a Volunteer and Past President of the Morton Plant Auxiliary. For 30 years Audrey had epitomized the best of Morton Plant Hospital Auxiliary. Staunchly dedicated, innovative, and compassionate, she served Morton Plant in a myriad of volunteer roles with grace and grit. She fought for changes she saw were needed and accepted the changes of time. Among her accomplishments as President 1980-1983, Audrey started the Holiday Lights Program, raised $250,000 for the building of Lykes Cancer Center and turned the fledgling Pink Bazaar Thrift Shop into the very lucrative ATTIC Resale Shop. In February 1981 she was recognized with ?Salute of the Week? by WTAN radio. Survivors include a sister, Mary Ann Lindsay, Austin, TX, a niece, Gayle Hawkins, Austin, TX, a nephew, Richard Franklin, Glen Moore, PA, a sister-in-law, Peggy Rueger, Richmond, VA and a brother-in-law, Hugh Ryan, Richmond, VA. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to Morton Plant Mease Foundation, 1200 Druid Road South, Clearwater, FL 33756.
