Willis R. Shoup
August 30th, 1914 - December 23rd, 2001
Shoup, Willis R., 87, of St. Petersburg, died Sunday December 23, 2001 after a short illness in Bayfront Medical Center. Born in Angola, Indiana, he came here in 1945 from Bronson, Mich., where he was co-owner and operator with his wife Gwen, of Shoup Insurance from 1936 to 1944. He was a World War II, U.S. Navy Veteran, discharged in 1945. He retired as a local adjudication board officer for the Veterans Administration after 30 years. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. He was a graduate of Tri-State College, Angola, Indiana and received a degree in Business Administration. He was a member of Covecrest Christian Center, Tiger, Ga. and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. Mr. Shoup is survived by his son John, and his wife, Judy of Largo. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Peter Shoup and Rebecca Woodyard, St. Petersburg, and two sisters, Miriam Thompson, Granger, Indiana and Joanne Booth, Norridgewock, Maine.
