Hugh James Adamson
December 4th, 1916 - March 31st, 2002
Adamson, Hugh James, 85, of St. Petersburg, died Sunday March 31,2002 at St. Anthony?s Hospital. He came here in 1947 from his native Kansas City, MO. He was a former member of the Kansas City Police Dept. and was the owner of Area Television until his retirement. He played semi-pro baseball, was a World Champion Pistol Shooter in 1947, he wrote a book on Jui Jitsu and taught self-defense. He was a life-long blood donor and played first base for the Kids and Kubs softball team since 1993. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic church for 45 years. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Veronica; two sons, Patrick Adamson, Boulder, CO and Mike Adamson, Yigo, Guam; three daughters, Peg McDermott, Woodstock, MD, Cathy Pixton, Odessa, FL and Teresa Jenkins, St. Petersburg; a nephew, Patrick Egan Adamson, Clearwater and nine grandchildren.
