Edward "Mac" Bridgewater
June 4th, 1921 - July 20th, 2005
Edward "Mac' Bridgewater, 84, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2005 at his residence. Mac was full of life and made many people smile. He had a passion for cowboys, horses, and music. He was a carefree man who showed compassion for everyone. His funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 23, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Mt. Pleasant with Pastor Tom Zollman and Rev. Ron Vredeveld officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 10-11 a.m. until service begins. Memorial contributions may be made to AIM (Association of Inter-Faith Ministries). Envelopes will be available at the church or at Lux Funeral Home. Mac was born in Indiana June 4, 1921 to Edgar and Iola Bridgewater. He was the fourth of ten children. In 1952 Mac moved to Mt. Pleasant. He moved many times within the past 53 years. In 1972 he lived with Ms. Mae Neff, 1991 he lived in the Devine Assisted Living Apartments and in November of 2003 Mac found his place at the Broadway Home. He became a very active member of the community. Mac shoveled snow and mowed lawns for many people. He was an employee of Kentucky Fried Chicken, a volunteer at the Isabella County Soup Kitchen, one of the oldest members of Special Olympics, and a member of CMU's Best Buddies program. He also loved to dance at Toni's Dance Studio and was a devoted Christian who was anxious to be home with his Lord. Surviving are his sister Mildred Cuppetelli of Roseville; sister Pauline of Eastpoint; brother James of Arizona; and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Mac will be missed very much from all who knew him especially close friends, Gary Bugh and family, Rob Bromley and family, Rev. Ron Vredeveld, Darla Woodward, housemates Gid and Woody; caretakers of the Broadway Home, support staff from Listening Ear, CMCMH, Adult Day Program, and Immanuel Lutheran Church. We all loved him and pray that he is at peace now and on "Happy Trails" in Heaven. Mac was preceded in death by parents, Edgar and Iola; brother Frank; and sisters, Marge, Jeanie, Beverly and Bertha Mae.
